Over seven days each October, SXSW Sydney gathers thinkers, creators and innovators together for an agenda-setting exploration of the best in Tech, Games, Music and Screen, across 1000+ events.

After a successful inaugural year, SXSW Sydney needed to refresh their visual identity and brand guidelines. The client expressed the desire for a versatile and effective identity system that was flexible enough to be rolled out across their diverse range of events and talent.

Our solution combines a 3D hero visual with a versatile identity system. The visual portrays SXSW Sydney as the convergence point of diverse ideas and talent. It features abstract representations of the festival’s four pillars — Screen, Tech, Music, and Games — orbiting the SXSW Sydney arrow logo. The identity uses a flexible system of rounded modules that can dynamically incorporate elements from the hero graphic while also standing alone effectively. These modules easily adapt to various outputs and serve as windows into the festival’s many facets.
